Biography
Dr. Wolfenden is certified by the American Board of Facial, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery, and by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and is a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the prestigious American Society of Cosmetic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the California Medical Association, and the San Francisco Medical Society.
Dr. Wolfenden received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his doctorate from the University of California School of Medicine, San Francisco. He completed his surgical internship at the University of California Hospital, San Francisco, and had a four-year residency in head and neck and facial plastic surgery, also at U.C. San Francisco. He then took a plastic surgical fellowship in Boston, Massachusetts. He has practiced cosmetic surgery in San Francisco since 1979.
Dr. Wolfenden’s distinguished expertise has been recognized in many ways, including several invitations to demonstrate his innovations in cosmetic facial surgery to other physicians in courses in Europe and throughout the United States. For several years, Dr. Wolfenden was a featured guest surgeon at plastic surgery courses in Trier, Germany and Vienna, Austria. Dr. Wolfenden recently chaired and organized an international plastic surgery symposium in Argentina attended by over 250 plastic surgeons and dermatologists. He is fluent in Spanish, using it frequently in his practice of plastic surgery. In December of 1997, Dr. Wolfenden was the featured plastic surgeon in the Forbes Magazine ASAP Special Issue. Dr. Wolfenden is also the author of many articles on facial plastic surgery.
